What is the Morstuph life? What does “Morstuph” mean?
Years ago my stepfather fell ill. Before he was hospitalized, my mother did all she could to make his days as carefree as possible. Financially, they were unable to do all of Tim McGraw’s “Live like you were dying” bucket list, but that’s not really the point. Joe came up with the name Morstuph for his entrepreneurial ventures, and the follow on toast for tequila shots..
May there always be Morstuph
So what does that have to do with a blog 20 years later?
As I’m getting a little older, I look around at people I have admired and I see that they work hard their entire life. That’s the part I admire. What saddens me is that they never really get to enjoy the life they have worked so hard to build. Too busy working!
What I am NOT saying is to not work, or to live an instant gratification life. That never ends well for a person or a family. A balance is in order. This is my chronicle of how I strive for that balance with exploration on the back of a big Indian motorcycle.
So there will be lots of posts about interesting, beautiful things I find as I ride the backroads of America. There will be maps of rides, photos of scenery, and stories of people I meet. There will be reflections and road thoughts (like shower thoughts only while driving). I might even get the family to join in…… we’ll see.
I hope you enjoy.
May there always be Morstuph!
